Fairness

"That's not fair!", often do I hear people complaining so.

And what comes to my mind in no second would be: "What on earth could ever be fair, anyway?"

I'd plead whoever knows of any to tell me.

I thought none of us had ever lived in a world with fairness, except for in dreams, maybe.

Why, then, so often do people grumble that something is not fair?

After years of living, have they not learnt the world has never ever been fair?

They might well have forgotten times when unfairness had favored them.

With your eyes closed, try to think, clearly, how the unfairness of this world had favored you throughout your life?

If you're true to yourself, I can be certain that you'd find yourself a blessed fellow, for you are at least capable of reading what you're reading now, and that you can get an internet access; while billions of people on the same earth could not.

There is however, one very thing that I believe is fair to all mankind.

Time is.

A person's 1 second runs exactly the same as the other person's, and same for 1 hour, 1 day, 1 year. It is a divine law of the Universe. A person's age, sex, race, wealth, status or anything, would make no differences to the universal intervals.

The clock ticks by the same interval so your hour lasts as long as mine. The difference is how you spend it. You may spend it to watch the television, read a book, chat with friends, take a bus, attend a class, brew a coffee..., whatever you could think of. The way how you spend your time makes you a unique individual.  Just as people say, "You are what you eat", in the same way I believe, "You are what you do".

Therefore within my allotted time, I'd like to spend it efficiently. I will lose not a day from learning for that day cannot be retrieved nor can I substitute another for it.

Unfairness is and will no longer cause me true frustration.

•由3200元開始步上一億元財富之道
論點論據都清晰有條理、有說服力,但文筆卻差的遠,年輕的緣故嗎?
•Liar's Poker
A glimps of another world. A very interesting but difficult read for me.
•The Bluffer's Guide to Stocks and Shares
A humorous little introductory book to the subject. Takes time to learn the technical terms though.

好一個很盡興的暑假。喔。怎麼還有3本?暑假理應不讀書~ XD
